Endermologie® was developed by Louis-Paul Guitay (LPG) in the early 1980s when it was originally used in the treatment of burns to prevent skin contraction and to loosen scar tissue. The term originated in France and translates to, “through the dermis.”
Non-invasive endermologie treatments offer two patented technologies for mobilizing tissue that cannot be reproduced by human hands or other machines. Genuine LPG® machines have also been cleared by the FDA for treating muscular pain and spasms, the reduction of secondary lymphedema and improved lymphatic and blood circulation in treatment areas, burn injuries and cellulite reduction.
It is thought to work by physically stretching and loosening the interconnected web of fibrous tissue which binds the connective tissue to one another. By softening the bonds between these strands and by stimulating the circulation beneath the skin the process helps eliminate unsightly dimples. By generating a massive surge of oxygen and blood to affected areas, the treatment mimics the behaviour of your body's healthy tissue, thus increasing the lymphatic drainage of stagnant waste within the system.
